Here we are at the end of October and the Tall Beings are absolutely splendid here in Kentucky, and I am sure in other states as well. Sometimes when I am out driving my car, Silly Tilly, it’s hard to keep my eyes on the road the trees are so beautiful. On my prayer walks I can now walk amongst the leaves; red, gold, brown, and orange. My tennis shoes make that rustling sound as I walk through them. Fall is truly here!

I drove up to Campbellsville, Ky. this past Saturday to camp with my friends at Quiet Woods Green River Horse Stables. Interstate 65 was bordered by trees thick and abundant with their bright, colorful foliage. I am not a big fan of driving much of a distance at this time in my life, probably because I drove so much as a hospice nurse. But I really enjoyed the scenic view. And I rode a sweet horse named Dixie on the trails at Green River. She belongs to my dear friends Robin and Don. The trails were great. A wonderful fall day and no huge horse flies to contend with, thank you very much! And to top it all off, I was able to visit with Kurtis, Ashlee, Rowan, and Willow, who are part of one of my many families. :O)

Then Sunday I hiked in the back woods of Bernheim Forest with some other friends. The forest is stunning at this time of year. One can feel so close to Mother Earth when she is decked out in all her Fall splendor. The warmth of the sun shining through the trees on my hike made me so very conscious of Mother Earth. She is alive and well. I felt so up close and personal that I could imagine feeling the pulse of her huge heart under my feet. I have been told we belong to Mother Earth, and I believe it.

The picture above is part of my neighbor Jackie’s front yard about a mile down the road. Her driveway now has the look of something out of a magazine. I like this picture I took because of the contrast of the leaves with the old tractor. Every year I look forward to watching these trees change out their leaves, like removing a green summer robe and putting on a majestic robe full of vibrant colors.

I plan to enjoy every Fall day we have given to us!
