Can You
Understand Me?

Joan, a hospice nurse diagnosed with tongue cancer, chose to change her thirty-year practice of walking prayer and meditation into a new plan of care as she underwent treatment for her tongue and neck. Instead of walking with Reddogg on the nearby country roads, she was inspired to uplift others spiritually while bolted to the radiation table.

Four months after completing radiation, she felt empowered enough to travel solo to Italy to pursue her passion for writing. This book is her journal, written throughout her journey with tongue cancer—her surgeries, treatments, and radiation; her recovery at home; her walking meditations surrounded by Mother Nature; and her healing trip to Italy.

I am happy to attend a gathering to discuss my book or speak about my book. Please email me from my blog,
under comments for an individual post, if you would like to send me an invitation.
Below I have written a few questions you may ask yourself related to my book content.
I hope you enjoy reading my journal.

1. Have you ever noticed when you pray for someone else YOU feel better?

2. On page 152 Joan writes, “This illness called cancer has changed my mind and heart…Otherwise what is this illness called cancer all about?”
Have you met a challenge in your life that changed your mind and heart?

3. Do you have physical, emotional, or spiritual challenges in your life where you could apply a holistic practice of praying for others to help you heal?
4. Do you see yourself walking with Mother Nature to build a personal relationship with God, yourself, and others?
